Care and Cleaning
Follow our recommendations to ensure and maintain the appearance and quality of your shoes.
To clean suede shoes, follow these steps:
- With dry suede, clean with a soft-bristle brush, always brushing in the same direction to avoid damaging the material.
- For tough stains, we recommend taking the shoes to a cobbler.
Contact with liquids may stain the suede, so it is important to keep the shoes protected from rain, alcohol, oil, and other liquids.
To clean velvet shoes, follow these steps:
- With dry velvet, clean with a soft-bristle brush to gently remove dust and loose dirt.
- For tougher stains, slightly dampen a soft cotton cloth with water and, if necessary, add a small amount of neutral detergent to the water.
- Use a damp cloth with only water to remove any residue, avoiding soaking the velvet.
- Let the shoes air dry away from direct sunlight, and once completely dry, gently brush the velvet with a soft-bristle brush to restore its texture.
Contact with liquids may stain the velvet, so it is important to keep the shoes protected from rain, alcohol, oil, and other liquids.
To clean leather shoes, follow these steps:
- With dry shoes, remove surface dirt with a dry soft cotton cloth.
- Use a damp cotton cloth with only water to clean tougher stains.
- Let the shoes air dry naturally, away from direct sunlight and heat sources that can damage the leather, or clean them with a dry soft cotton cloth.
- A neutral leather conditioner can be used to maintain leather softness, but ensure it is tested in a small area and the shoes are completely dry before wearing them.
Metallic leather (gold/silver) is a delicate form of leather that uses a lamination process to provide a smooth and shiny finish. Due to its sensitivity, metallic leathers can easily get marked, requiring special care and attention. To ensure the longevity of our products, we recommend storing and/or transporting the shoes with the provided protection as delivered. We also recommend avoiding contact with sharp or abrasive objects that may damage the material’s surface.
Do not apply any leather treatment products to metallic leather.
Leather is soft and durable, providing a long-lasting shoe. As with all animal leathers, it will naturally wrinkle and soften with age.
To clean satin shoes, follow these steps:
- Use a soft-bristle brush or a dry cloth to gently remove any surface dirt from the shoe.
- Mix a small amount of neutral detergent in warm water. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the satin.
- Dip a soft cloth or soft-bristle brush in the solution and wring it out well so it’s not dripping. Gently clean the dirty areas of the shoe using circular motions.
- Use another clean damp cloth with just water to remove any detergent residue.
- Let the shoes air dry away from direct sunlight and heat sources, which can damage the satin.
- Once dry, use a soft-bristle brush to restore the satin’s texture, if necessary.
Contact with liquids may stain the satin, so it is important to keep the shoes protected from rain, alcohol, oil, and other liquids.
Soles:
The soles of Crème Caviar shoes are made of smooth and delicate leather and, as a result, will show marks upon first use. This is not a manufacturing defect. It is a natural process and part of the normal wear of the shoes.
We do not recommend replacing the soles, as this may alter the shoe’s structure.
Lining:
The lining of Crème Caviar shoes is made of smooth leather. You can gently remove surface dirt from the lining of your shoes by using a clean damp cloth to clean any impurities. For shoes with a suede lining, you can use a soft suede brush to gently smooth the nap.
Heel Caps:
With prolonged use, heel caps may naturally wear out. It is recommended to replace the caps before the inner part of the heel starts showing. This is important because having an unstable heel can lead to balance problems and affect the entire shoe’s structure.
How should you store your Crème Caviar shoes?
It is important to ensure the shoes do not deform, always maintaining their original shape.
Store the shoes with tissue paper inside them, wrapped in the same paper they were sent with, or inside a cotton bag.
Always clean them within two days of wearing them.
Crème Caviar prioritizes quality products, made with materials that ensure longevity and durability. Manual and pair-by-pair production does not guarantee that all shoes of the same model will be identical.
